Could the Final Season of ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Ignite Morgan’s Reunion with Rick Grimes?
AMC recently dropped an avalanche of news for fans of The Walking Dead Universe, with the most noteworthy piece being that the upcoming spin-off series, Dead City, will feature walkers plummeting from the sky to add a whole new level of danger and excitement. Additionally, they released a trailer for Fear The Walking Dead‘s eighth season which showcases survivors still struggling in spite of finding refuge on an island. That’s the case not only because of the rule of PADRE but also because there’s no escape from walkers (everyone is infected, and everyone will eventually reanimate without blunt force to the head) anywhere on the planet.
In the trailer, Morgan references his dear friend Rick Grimes – a man he shared many moments with at the start of this zombie apocalypse. With deep and solemn sincerity, Lennie James‘ character states: “I want to tell you something that a friend once told me… He said you can hide, but you can’t run. Hurt will follow wherever you go. He was right… don’t make my mistake; Don’t run.” Making it clear what kind of advice Morgan has for us all in these times – stand together and fight!
The circumstances feel ripe for Rick and Morgan to finally reunite, as they have done on a few occasions before. James has previously been asked whether he would star in one of the spinoff movies featuring Rick Grimes but it never came to fruition due to the pandemic. Now that Michonne is set for her own spin-off series with more action than ever before, this could be an ideal moment for Rick and Morgan’s paths to cross again – whatever fate awaits them both!
In the trailer, Morgan makes his way back to Georgia and reminisces on Rick’s memory.
What’s to come? Morgan surfacing on the Rick and Michonne show, or Fear The Walking Dead giving us more clues (and maybe even a reunion) would certainly quell any fans’ worries. Not only is this franchise having an enjoyable time playing with our expectations, but they’re doing it for good reason; previous episodes of Fear The Walking Dead have hinted at Rick’s whereabouts, while we obviously don’t know how he escapes from those people in helicopters after the events of The Walking Dead ended. However, we can guess that Michonne pieces together enough clues to find him, and hopefully, he never rides a horse again.
Uncover the secrets of what’s to come sooner than you think! Fear The Walking Dead returns this May 14th, and catch Rick and Michonne in action in 2024.
