Matt Ryan has been beautifully portraying Constantine for years now, but his time may be at an end. The character originally had how own show, which was canceled, before he moved on to the Arrowverse. Initially, he had a cameo role on Arrow and later on became a series regular on Legends Of Tomorrow. Fans have been enjoying the fact that Constantine has been more present in the Arrowverse. As I mentioned above Matt Ryan has been absolutely killing it. Nothing is confirmed yet but his time as Constantine might be coming to an end though. DC doesn’t always seem to like when there are multiple iterations of a character. Now, Constantine is getting an HBO Max show with a different Constantine.

DC Comics

The Illuminerdi are the ones who originally reported this. The part we already knew is that a Justice League Dark is on its way, which is awesome all on its own. We always expected Constantine to be a part of it, as he is a core member, but most expected Matt Ryan. The Illuminerdi has reportedly gotten their hands on a casting grid though, and it looks as though Constantine will be recast. Though this is disappointing the hear, we shouldn’t get too worried yet. It’s entirely possible that whoever takes over the role of Constantine is just as good as Matt Ryan. This also doesn’t mean that Matt Ryan will be leaving Legends of Tomorrow. Legends of Tomorrow was renewed for another season and thus far we have no reason to think Matt Ryan will be leaving.

This show is part of a bigger deal to bring DC media to HBO Max, and Justice League Dark has J.J. Abrams attached which could be huge. No report on when the show will be launching and no official casting announcements yet, but we’ll keep you updated!
