Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott Returning for ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’

The upcoming season of American Horror Story is shaping up to be a series reunion which fans won’t soon forget!

On Thursday, The Wrap reported that Connie Britton will be returning to the horror anthology series in a yet-to-be-revealed role. Also returning is Britton’s co-star and counterpart from the first season of American Horror Story, Dylan McDermott.

No details have been released just yet relating to Britton or McDermott’s roles, however, since the upcoming eighth season is a crossover between season one’s Murder House and season three’s Coven, it’s a safe bet that they will be reprising their season one characters.

In the first season of American Horror Story, Britton and McDermott played married couple Ben and Vivien Harmon. After being raped by Evan Peters’ character, Tate, Britton’s Vivien gave birth to a set of twins, one of which survived. The surviving twin, Michael, was last seen in the season one finale covered in blood after just murdering his babysitter. The rest of the Harmon family did not make it out of the first season alive, but at the end of the season were spending the rest of their eternity as ghosts in the house.

It certainly will be interesting to pick up with these characters once again after all these years.

In addition to Britton and McDermott, many others will be returning to American Horror Story this season including series staples Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Kathy Bates. Additionally, the incomparable Jessica Lange will be returning for at least one episode reprising her season one character Constance. Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and the legendary Stevie Nicks will all be returning for another round of the anthology as well.

The eighth installment of the series, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, will premiere on September 12th on FX.
