Last nights casting rumor which revealed that Andy Serkis was apparently in talks to portray Alfred was not the only rumor to circulate.

According to Deadline, Colin Farrell is also in talks to join Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Alongside Paul Dano’s Riddler, Colin Farrell may be donning a top hat and monocle ready to play The Penguin.

Colin Farrell who is obviously known for his role in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find ThemDaredevil, and Tigerland, is no stranger to playing the villain. However, I never imagined that The Penguin would be in the realm of possibility for Farrell. Obviously nothing has been confirmed yet so it is important to take this with a pinch of salt.

Perhaps Reeves is looking to reinvent The Penguin? Hopefully the casting becomes clearer in the coming days but at the moment, I can’t quite picture it.

What do you think? Do you think Farrell would make a great Penguin, or do you think he could play another iconic villain? Let us know the comments.

The Batman is due in cinemas on June 25th 2021. The reboot stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
