Clark Gregg, Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace to Appear in ‘Captain Marvel’

Marvel confirmed today that a few fans favorites will be making appearances in the upcoming film already starring Brie Larson.

Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson), Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace will all appear in Captain Marvel.

Gregg’s character was last seen on the big screen in 2012’s Avengers, where he was killed off. He was then brought back to star in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC. Pace was Ronan the Accuser in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Hounsou was Korath The Pursuer.

Marvel confirmed the returns in a press release Monday, and added more that will be joining the cast,  including Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, and McKenna Grace.

We already know that Brie Larson will star as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Jude Law as Walter Lawson/Mar-Vell.

Here is the new official synopisis:

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Captain Marvel will shoot mainly in Los Angeles, and will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

The creators of Netflix’s GLOW, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch will screen write.

 

Captain Marvel is scheduled for release on March 8th, 2019.
