Just a week after announcing his split from Anna Faris, Chris Pratt took to the Teen Choice Awards stage in good spirits to accept the award for Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor Award for his role as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. Pratt was presented the award by a powerhouse of talented young women including Millie Bobbie Brown, Grace VanderWaal, and Maddie Ziegler.
He then took a moment to tell a quick story about how he got his start in Hollywood. “When I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had all of this blonde hair and I was tan and I met an agent because I really wanted to be an actor and get an agent and he said, ‘Wow. Bro you must surf?’ And I said ‘Yeah’ and that was the first of many lies I told to get where I am today. Thank you.”
It wasn’t all jokes though as Pratt thanked Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Director James Gunn and confirmed that he would be coming back for the third. He also took a moment to express his true gratitude for the surfboard win. “I would not be here with the ease and grace I have in my heart without my lord and savior, Jesus Christ.”
Despite what’s going on in his personal life, it appears that it’s business as usual for Pratt who has a packed schedule with Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom, and Cowboy Ninja Viking all on the horizon.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
