Chris Evans Says Marvel Doesn’t Miss: ‘They’re Batting a Thousand’

If you ask fans of the MCU what they’re expecting from Avengers: Infinity War, you’d get a variety of answers. As with all Marvel films, fans are being kept in the dark aside from a few concrete facts. One, there’s a great evil within Thanos. Two, it’s the culmination of everything the MCU has created so far. Three, we’re going to cry.

We also know that the cast and crew give of themselves to their roles and their passion is part of what makes the MCU the powerhouse that it is. They’re fans of the films and the franchises just like we are.

Chris Evans is one of Marvel’s biggest fans and rightfully so. He’s Captain America, he’s the guy who always fights for what’s right, and he’s a staple to Marvel as a whole. It would be easy to assume that he’d only have good things to say about the MCU, but you can’t fake the level of respect and adoration he has for what’s been produced thus far, and for what’s coming.

This weekend, at an Arizona convention, he spoke of Avengers: Infinity War and said the blending of all of these franchises, ones he admired, was wonderful.

‘That was the best part of this movie, is that you really kind of, it really was for the first time for me feeling like… the first few movies it’s almost like it’s happening to somebody else. You kind of feel like you’re watching it happen, but you’re not actually a part of it. This was kind of the first movie where you actually felt like you had a seat at the table and you belonged and it was so nice to have all these other franchises that you’ve watched and admired come to a set where you’re like oh man, I belong here, and all these great people are part of a movie that we’re all doing together, and it was just wonderful, because all of those franchises, well, let’s be honest. Marvel doesn’t miss. They haven’t missed yet. They’re batting a thousand.’

Chris certainly does belong there, as does every hero cast in Infinity War. It’ll take the best and brightest to take on an evil darkness like Thanos, and they’ve obviously not taken the task lightly.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th.
