This is When the Fun Begins: ‘Chosen One’ Update for ‘Star Wars Battlefront II’ is Live

The hotly anticipated Chosen One update for EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront II went live today, and it contains a few things that fans have been clamoring for since the game’s initial release. First and foremost, Anakin Skywalker is part of the update, as one of the heroes that players can take control of on the battlefield. Skywalker will cost players 35,000 in-game credits, and will come with two appearances: Jedi robes and Jedi Knight. Anakin will be voiced by Clone Wars veteran voice actor Matt Lanter. The burning question, of course, is will Anakin say his most cringe-worthy line from the Prequel Trilogy. Good news: he will. “I don’t like sand” has become synonymous with bad dialogue from Attack of the Clones, and fans of course felt any addition that included young Skywalker would not be complete without it.
Anakin’s abilities will include “Passionate Strike,” which is a heavy strike that deals massive damage; the defensive “Heroic Impact,” which will give Anakin greater resistance to enemy attack; “Pull Dominance,” which Anakin can use to pull enemies in front of him, leaving them open to attacks; and “Retribution,” which intensifies Anakin’s powers, building to a swift and inescapable grip that grabs all enemies around him. More on Anakin’s powers, Star Cards, and voice lines can be found here.
The Chosen One is not arriving alone. He will be joined by Clone Trooper armor skins from the 501st Battalion–two, in fact–Phase I and Phase II, costing 5,000 and 20,000 credits, respectively. You can read more about the Clone Trooper updates at EA’s community update.
Response to the update has been very positive. Users on reddit’s Battlefront sub have been singing the praises of the new clone armor, along with the inclusion of Anakin’s “sand” dialogue.
As with all new content for Battlefront II, owners of the game, along with EA Access subscribers, have instant access to the update today.
