The Walking Dead alum Tom Payne is sporting a brand new haircut for his next gig, and on Tuesday, he took to social media to reveal his new look.

Payne is best known for his role of Paul “Jesus” Rovia on the hit AMC zombie series, and fans of the show have gotten quite used to seeing his long, luscious locks. In his next role, he will be taking on the lead for Fox’s new drama pilot Prodigal Son. Just a few weeks ago, Payne teased the start of his “new beginnings” by posting a picture of his familiar long hair laying cut on the floor.

In a new social media post today, Payne shared the first photo of himself since chopping off his signature long hair. On Instagram, Payne posted, “So I’ve been wondering how I should reveal what I look like now. Then I realized it’s been a long time since I posted and got over myself. So @jjakerman took this yesterday while I was planking and I liked it so I’m posting #ShortHairDontCare”

While we’ll miss Payne’s signature “Jesus” look, new beginnings sure do look good on him! Take a look at the post below.

In addition to Payne, the cast for the upcoming pilot also includes Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, and Frank Harts.

Prodigal Son will follow “Malcolm Bright (Payne), the son of a notorious serial killer called The Surgeon who understands how killers think. The criminal psychologist uses his skills to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers while balancing his manipulative mother (Bellamy), annoyingly normal sister, and a homicidal father (Sheen) still looking to bond with his prodigal son.”

The pilot is written by Chris Fedak (Legends of Tomorrow) and Sam Sklaver (Deception) and directed by Lee Toland Krieger. Fedak, Sklaver and Krieger will also executive produce along with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Prods.
