CBS to Premiere Two True Crime Series in July

True crime series and films are more popular than ever right now, a while Netflix has a huge foot in the game with shows like The Staircase and The Keepers, CBS is hoping to throw their hat in the ring with two new series set to premiere this July.

Whistleblower will “look into the real-life David vs. Goliath stories of heroic people who put everything on the line to expose illegal and often dangerous wrongdoing when major corporations rip off U.S. taxpayers.” Each episode will follow ordinary employees who put their careers and reputations on the line in order to expose their company’s unethical practices driven by corporate greed. Whistleblower will be hosted by former judge and police officer and now an attorney, Alex Ferrer. The series will premiere at 8 PM EST on Friday, July 13.

The second series will be Pink Collar Crimes which according to its logline is “inspired by a growing crime wave in the country — felonious females. These are the impossible-to-believe, often absurd, true stories about the most unexpected women – PTA moms, country-club chairwomen and more – who took big risks, pocketed big cash and then served hard time.” Marcia Clarke, O.J. Simpson prosecutor, author, and television correspondent, will provide insights and analysis for each episode. The series will premiere at  8 PM EST on Saturday, July 28.

We think that both of these shows sound extremely unique and will shed a different light and tone to the genre while telling captivating stories audiences will enjoy! What do you think about CBS’ latest true crime shows? Let us know!
