Cardi B Wins $1.25M YouTube Defamation Lawsuit
Cardi B was victorious in a defamation lawsuit against LaTasha “Tasha K” Kebe over provocative claims the YouTuber made in more than a dozen videos.
Tasha K had made claims in her YouTube videos that Cardi B was a prostitute, that she was a drug addict, as well, that she cheated on her husband Offset, amongst other allegations.
The jury decided Cardi B should get $1.25 million in compensation for the false light and emotional distress she suffered, as well as invasion of privacy through portrayal in a negative light. There may be additional punitive damages on the way, as well as a possible cost for Kebe’s legal expenses.
In 2019, Cardiari claimed that Kebe’s videos made her feel suicidal and caused weight loss, anxiety, headaches, and tiredness.
“I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband,” she said. In court, she said, “Only an evil person could do that shit.”
The herpes allegation was the most damaging, Cardi B said, testifying that Kebe’s followers called her “Herpes B” and harassed her for kissing her daughter on the lips.
Kebe responded to the loss on Twitter.

She later thanked her fans.

Just days after promising to reimburse the costs of funerals and burials for residents of the recent Bronx apartment fire, Cardi B has won her legal battle. Cardi is from the same neighborhood as Jose Matos, and she said she “knew I needed to do something” after hearing of 17 fatalities.
“I cannot begin to imagine the pain and anguish that the families of the victims are experiencing, but I hope that not having to worry about the costs associated with burying their loved ones will help as they move forward and heal,” Cardi said. “I send my prayers and condolences to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy.”
