Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Hung Out with the Cast of ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’

The cast and crew of the upcoming film X-Men: Dark Phoenix are gearing up to start production on the film which will be shooting in Montreal, Canada.  What better way to kick off filming a movie in Canada then by hanging out with the Canadian Prime Minister!

James McAvoy (who plays Professor Charles Xavier in the film) posted a photo on Instagram showing the cast and their new recruit Prime Minister Justin Trudeau out at dinner together.  In addition to Trudeau, McAvoy (and his freshly-shaven Professor X head), the photo also includes director Simon Kinberg, Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops).

Not pictured cast members include Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast).

Other than casting, little is known about the film though Kinberg confirmed the movie would jump ahead ten years from Apocalypse.  That should bring the timing to around the 1990s which mirror an interesting time for the X-Men comics.

Check out the cool picture of the cast with Prime Minister Trudeau below.  Both the cast and Prime Minister Trudeau look equally as excited to be meeting each other.  As we know, Trudeau is not shy about showing off his nerdy side.  He was also photographed wearing Star Wars socks on this year’s “May the 4th” celebration day.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be hitting theaters on November 2, 2018.  Are you excited?
