‘Bumblebee’ is Sent on a Mission by Optimus Prime in Second Trailer

The first trailer of Bumblebee caught our attention with a fascinating story line, but the second trailer goes beyond the gratifying story of a girl and her robot.

The second trailer includes parts of the civil war happening on Cyberton. The yellow, charming Autobot is given a mission from Generation One Optimus Prime: “There is only one way to end this war – you must protect Earth and its people.”

The trailer released last week had teases featuring a G1 Soundwave as he releases Ravage the hunting cat in the midt of a battle with Optimus. It also includes Agent Burns from the government agency called Sector 7, played by John Cena. He is made aware by the Decepticon Blitzwing of a battle that could turn our planet to a war zone if not intercepted.

“There’s a war breeding on our planet, and if this criminal isn’t found, that war may find its way here.”

Here’s the film synopsis:

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Bumblebee is directed by Travis Knight and written by Christina Hodson. It stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Pamela Adlon, Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos and Gracie Dzienny.

The powerful yellow Autobot’s standalone film hits theaters on December 21st, 2018.
