People have been waiting for this news – Britney Spears is making a return to music! She will be working with Elton John on a duet. According to Page Six, the song may come out sooner than you think.
Spears and John have been spotted together in Beverly Hills, according to the publication. The name of the song they purportedly recorded together was also revealed by the source, and it’s a well-known one. According to reports, John and Spears are scheduled to release a new version of his 1971 hit “Tiny Dancer.” Universal Music will put out the song, which is expected to be released in August.
“This was Elton’s idea, and Britney is a huge fan. They have recorded a remix of ‘Tiny Dancer’ as a full duet — and it is incredible,”a music industry source said. “Britney was in the studio in Beverly Hills last week with Elton for the super-secret recording session overseen by uber-producer Andrew Watt.”
Another source said that the track has already been played for those at Universal Music, and it has them “freaking out” over how “good” it is. The insider added, “They are saying this is going to be the song of the summer. Britney is officially back. She’s back to work, and she’s super excited.”
It has been a long time since Spears released music. The last time she released music was in 2016 when she put out the song “Slumber Party.” This report will be good news to her many fans. It was rumored that she was retiring, but this report says that she is not.
In mid-2021, Spears’ longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, claimed that the “Toxic” songstress told him that she was taking a major step back from the industry. He wrote in a letter that was sent to her former conservators, Jamie Spears and Jodi Montgomery, “Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.”
Spears has never officially announced her retirement, even though the details of this letter were released to the public. However, she has been showing off her vocal chops recently. For example, she recently shared a new take on her own classic song, “…Baby One More Time.” In a video accompanying the song, Spears teases her return to music, writing “I haven’t shared my voice in an extremely long time … maybe too long.”
