Another photo from The Walking Dead season 7b has been released with a familiar face and some not so familiar faces. This newest pic centers on Rick Grimes in the middle of what could be another new, yet to be named community. Is this group friend or foe? Do these people relate to the mystery person that watched Rick & Aaron and Father Gabriel through binoculars at the end of the mid-season finale?
Scott M. Gimple has this to say about the newcomers: “I’m just going to say that Rick is going to meet this person and/or persons pretty quickly, the answers are just around the heap. I cannot wait for people to meet this character and to see this actor. There is some formidable fun coming up.”
We know from the previously released sneak peak that Rick is busy making plans to rise up and fight Negan and the Saviors but he will need allies from other communities, like the Hilltop, to help him win the war. Jesus decides that its time our survivors meet King Ezekiel and the rest of the Kingdom. Could these new people be another community willing to fight along side of Rick & the gang?
The official synopsis released by AMC teases that “Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose – to defeat Negan – it won’t come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley) do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable.”
“We’ll meet new survivors in incredible places. We’ll see Rick and the group tested in ways we’ve never seen before. We’ll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.”
The Walking Dead mid-season premiere is February 12, 2017 at 9pm EST on AMC.
