‘Breaking Bad’ Homeowners Are Building a Fence to Stop Fans from Throwing Pizzas on Their Roof

When life imitates art, sometimes, it can lead to a case of a fandom that’s gone too far. This happens to be the case for one particular family living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, aka the setting for AMC’s hit series Breaking Bad.
Even though the series ended in 2013, fans continue to visit the house where Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) and his family lived on the show. The problem, however, is that a real-life family lives there and they are getting a little tired of fans reenacting one particular scene from the series.
You remember the pizza tossing scene, right? Where Walter White expertly (and angrily) throws a pizza onto the roof of his house? Check out the clip below for a little refresher:
As it turns out, that scene stuck with fans, much like that pizza stuck onto the roof. The actual family that lives in Walter White’s house has dealt with years and years of people visiting, taking photos of the residence and, yes, even throwing pizzas onto their roof. According to their neighbor who spoke with local Albuquerque news channel KRQE, the neighborhood has had enough. The neighbor said, “All day, non-stop, there’s people up and down this road. They park in front of our driveway and block us in.”
Back in 2015, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan pleaded with fans to stop throwing pizzas on the roof of the home, however, it looks like that didn’t quite solve the problem. As a result of the endless flow of fans and spectators, the family has been forced to construct a six-foot-tall, wrought-iron fence in an effort to gain some privacy. Fans have even tried to circumvent the construction in order to get a clear view for a good picture of the house.
We love to celebrate fandoms and we love enthusiastic fans but please, PLEASE, do not throw a pizza on the roof of Walter White’s house. It’s a mess to clean up and, quite frankly, a waste of a delicious dinner.
What do you think of enthusiastic Breaking Bad fans throwing pizzas on the roof of Walter White’s house?
