As if the countdown itself for the official trailer for Blumhouse’s upcoming Halloween was not enough excitement for one week, the news that arrived today just made the wait even harder.
Today, Blumhouse and Universal have released a brief trailer teaser for the 2018 reprisal of Halloween. We still don’t know much about the plot for this new Halloween story, other than the fact that it will be taking place after the first Halloween (1978) and ignoring all films following that.

Jamie Lee Curtis has returned to reprise her role as Laurie Strode, sister of the boogeyman. Judy Greer will be playing Laurie’s daughter, who you could say may prove to be another potential victim once she gets in Michael’s line of sight. The film is directed by David Gordon Green in which he co-wrote with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley.
The teaser hints at a good deal of dialogue that I’m more than positive we will be hearing in the trailer, which will be released on Friday. Those who were lucky enough to get a glimpse of it at CinemaCon have been raving about it, so I’m excited for the public to finally get an eye on it! The teaser was certainly catching enough to draw me in, ready to see this final showdown between Laurie and Michael. This film has been a long time in the making, and Jason Blum has been extremely excited for its final release.
Check out these incredible stills below, which were just released by Universal and Blumhouse today. It looks as though Laurie really is in for the fight of her life against the diabolical Michael Myers:
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
I do have to say that I love the look of the iconic Michael Myers mask in this. It pretty much looks like an aged version of the original mask – sort of signifying how he has been chasing after Laurie since the original movie. I have to say, I am extremely pleased with the fact that Nick Castle will be reprising his original role as Michael Myers for select scenes in the film. It all just ties together so nicely!
This film also holds a lot of promise, especially since John Carpenter was onboard as an executive producer for the film. When my brother and I met him at Monster Mania in March, he stated that it had his stamp of approval – which is amazing news indeed!
Halloween arrives in theaters on October 19th, 2018.
