She’s recently been praised for her most important role yet, in what may be her biggest performance to date.
Blonde, a historical psychological drama film, is an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’s 2000 novel by the same name. The movie was directed and written by Andrew Dominik.
Let’s talk about the Blonde Netflix release date, because it’s getting a lot of attention right now.
Blonde Netflix release date
Blonde will be available to stream on Netflix starting Thursday, September 28th 2022.
On the other hand, while it is set to open in select UK cinemas on Friday, September 23rd 2022, it began a limited theatrical run in the United States on Friday, September 16th.
The film first showed at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on Thursday, September 8th.
For what to anticipate, Blonde tells the story of Marilyn Monroe, from her birth in 1926 through her death in 1962, largely told in black and white with some color sequences.
Ana de Armas just received an 11 (ELEVEN) minute standing ovation for her role in BLONDE at the Venice Film Festival. Later this month, Netflix will release The Marilyn Monroe movie.
‘Like Citizen Kane and Raging Bull had a daughter, only better looking’
The film’s director, Joe Wright, recently spoke about it with Collider during an interview:
“Well, the whole idea of Blonde was to detail a childhood drama and then show the way in which that drama splits the adults into a public and private self. And how the adult sees the world through the lens of that childhood drama…”
He continued: “… and it’s sort of a story of a person whose rational picture of the world as being overwhelmed by her unconscious, and it uses the iconography of Marilyn Monroe.”
He went on to say, “It’s like Citizen Kane and Raging Bull had a daughter, only better looking.”
Blonde will be released on Netflix on Thursday, September 28th 2022.
