Black Widow Is Still Getting A Theatrical Release!

Black Widow is due in just a few short months and there’s been some debate about its release! Obviously, the ideal solution would be to see Black Widow release in theatres. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic that might be difficult in certain portions of the world. Or all portions of the world, I don’t know, I’m not a doctor. Because of the pandemic though it was unclear whether or not we’d be able to see Black Widow in theatres. So many other films have been delayed already including films like Morbius. That raised the question of where exactly Black Widow might be releasing. There was always the possibility that Black Widow could pull a Wonder Woman 1984 and release the film on its streaming service, Dinsey+. Truth be told I’m surprised they haven’t already since it’s been about a year since Black Widow should have launched. Disney has decided to shed a bit more light on their plans for Black Widow. They claim the film should still be coming to movie theatres. Yep, Black Widow is still getting a theatrical release!

This news comes right out of the mouth of Disney CEO Bob Chapek. He went on to say “As of now, the strategy is to continue on with the theatrical release. And we’ll be watching very, very carefully,”

This is certainly hopeful news for those who only want to see Black Widow released theatrically. It can’t be an easy decision for Disney either. They have to weigh the film’s budget against delays, and in some parts of the world movie theatres still aren’t open. Hopefully, by the time May rolls around though we’ll be able to sit down and enjoy a movie, even if we do have to wear a mask. I don’t know about you but I’d rather see Black Widow with a mask than suffer through one more delay.
