Black Panther is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated and culturally historic films of 2018, which makes this news all the more greater!
According to The AV Club, ticket presales for Black Panther have already beaten Captain America: Civil War – who previously held the record for Fandango’s fastest-selling Marvel film in the first twenty-four hours. On top of that, sources not related to Disney are predicting an $80 – 85 million dollar opening weekend, including Presidents Day Monday.
Back in 2016, Captain America: Civil War made $179 million on its opening weekend, which is followed by Deadpool’s big screen debut with $132.4 million. Coincidentally, both will be back in theaters this year with Cap taking on Thanos in Infinity War this May and Deadpool providing “premium Cable service” for its sequel in June.
