It seemed the super hero blockbusters just kept rolling in during 2018, but only one took the cake as the highest grossing film of the year. Black Panther is taking home the trophy this year.
Ryan Coogler’s film took home over $700 million domestically in the box office, according to Box Office Mojo.
Erik Davis, the Managing Editor of Fandango tweeted a congratulations to the film when the news broke.
How about this box office stat: Shout out to #BlackPanther director Ryan Coogler, who is now the first black director to ever have a film top the domestic box office charts for the entire year. With $700M, his film is now officially the king of 2018 👑 pic.twitter.com/w7aNb956ej
