It comes as no surprise to fans of the MCU that when the review embargo for Black Panther was lifted, critics had incredibly positive things to say about the film. With its all-star cast
So far, 54 reviews have been counted on Rotten Tomatoes and the film is sitting at a perfect score of 100%. With not one negative review existing so far, fans are more excited than ever to see Wakanda on the big screen.
The perfect rating is obviously subject to change as reviews continue to roll in, you can’t make everyone happy, but it says something about Black Panther that so much of what we’re hearing so far is laced with so much positivity and excitement. It says something about the cast and crew and their dedication to the project as well.
CNN’s Bryan Lowry had this to say about the film.
‘Black Panther pounces toward the head of the class in a way that should make the King, and his key subjects, a cornerstone of an already-formidable roster.’
Jake Coyle from the Associated Press said this in his review
‘It’s easy to lament how long it took to bring Black Panther to the big screen. But at least the wait was worth it.’
It goes without saying that Black Panther is a film in a league of its own. While it toys with some of the same underlying ideas and struggles of the superhero films we know and love – it does so in its own voice.
Black Panther hits theaters on February 16th.
