Black Lightning: THIS CHARACTER Dies In The Series Finale! Oof, It’s A Big One!
Four seasons of Black Lightning all came to an end tonight and what an episode it was! It concluded plots that have been going on for four years, now! THIS CHARACTER dies in the series finale, and oof it’s a big one Black Lightning fans.
Spoilers for the Black Lightning series finale from this point on. You’ve been warned!
The series finale finally ended the feud between Jefferson and Tobias Whale. Whale kind of acted as the villain of the entire series and Black Lightning has been determined to take him down for years.
Tobias seemed unstoppable going into the series finale, but that wasn’t going to deter Jefferson. Sure enough, our hero came out on top. He could have lived, but it seems like he kind of chose death if you ask us.
Not as many people died in the series finale as you might have expected. It looked like we might have lost Jefferson, but that was luckily a fake-out. The same can’t be said for Tobias who is truly dead, after four seasons.
Jefferson might have lived, but it was close. He was so close to death he even got a chance to speak to his dead father. His father encouraged him to go after Tobias with everything he could, and take him down once and for all.
While this was happening team Black Lightning managed to restore the Metahumans’ powers, and with that Black Lightning was able to escape his coffin and go after Tobias.
This ended with an awesome fight between the two. Jefferson came out on top and was determined to bring Tobias in alive. Unfortunately, the villain started shooting forcing Jefferson to put him down once and for all.
Lala found his body not long after, too.
Showrunner Salim Akil spoke about Lala a little, “Well, I just wanted to give people hope. You know these characters are, I think all the characters on black lightning have contributed to what I consider, the mission of the show. And Lala has always been one of my favorite characters because he reminds me so much of myself and a lot of my friends that I grew up with. Someone that is seen as a villain, and in a lot of ways he is, but he also has a moral compass, and he really sees what he does as a business, and he then contributes to the community. So, I really wanted to have Lala stand up and represent that.”
