Fans of Nick Kroll’s raunchy animated comedy Big Mouth are in for some big news today as Netflix announced that the show would be returning for a second season in 2018. With 10 half-hour episodes, Big Mouth takes on a somewhat edgy topic as it follows a group of “teenage friends who find their lives upended by the wonders and horrors of puberty.”
The show has received a lot of critical praise for it’s sharp and witty writing, its animation, brave content, and it’s awesome voice cast. In addition to Kroll, Big Mouth also features the voices of John Mulaney, Jordan Peele, Jenny Slate, Maya Rudolph, and Fred Armisen. However, only Krull and Mulaney are definites for returning to season 2. One of the things that has made Big Mouth such a bonafide hit for the streaming giant, not even a month after it’s premiere, is that it’s covering an issue that’s universal for everyone but is either over exaggerated or often ignored in most movies and TV.
In the brief teaser that Netflix released, fans can be assured that season 2 will follow much of the same pubescent topics prevalent in the first season. Watch the official announcement below and be sure to binge Season 1 of Big Mouth exclusively on Netflix.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
