And the Emmy goes to…Meryl Streep! Oh, it is too early for that? Probably so, but Meryl Streep has officially landed in Monterey to begin shooting for season 2 of HBO’s Big Little Lies and we have our first look at the mega-talented actress in character! Nicole Kidman shared a photo of the two of them along with her character’s two sons on Instagram with the caption: “First day on the set with Meryl and ‘my’ darling boys!”
Streep will be playing Mary-Louise Wright, the mother of Alexander Skarsgard’s season 1 character Perry, who comes to town to visit her grandsons and daughter-in-law (Kidman) after her son’s death – and we think it’s safe to say that she will be coming with some questions as well. While we aren’t entirely sure what she knows about Perry’s abusive ways, the fact that she’s coming to town “looking for answers” does not bode well for Celeste and the other ladies involved in his murder.
The second season of the Emmy-award winning series will “will explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode … the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.” It is slated for a 2019 release date with all of the original stars returning including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, and Zoe Kravitz.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
