Ben Mendelsohn Rumored to Play ‘Captain Marvel’ Villain
Captain Marvel‘s cast may include this Emmy winner!
Variety exclusively reported that Ben Mendelsohn is in talks with the film’s directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to play the villain, who may possibly be the leader of alien group the Skrulls.
Taking place in the 90s, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who’s DNA merges with an alien’s during an accident, granting her strength, energy projection, and flight. Also expected to star is Samuel L. Jackson, reprising his role as Nick Fury sans eye patch.
Mendelsohn is best known for his roles in Star Wars: Rogue One and Netflix’s Bloodline, for which he won the Best Supporting Actor Emmy. He can next be seen in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One this March and Robin Hood: Origins next Fall.
Captain Marvel is expected to hit theaters on March 8, 2019.
