The CW has ordered a Batwoman pilot starring Ruby Rose, and it will be directed by David Nutter (Game of Thrones, Arrow, The Flash).

According to Deadline, Batwoman will come from Greg Berlanti’s studio, Warner Bros. Television and Caroline Dries. The character made her first appearance during the Elseworlds Crossover event that aired on The CW in December. The Orange is The New Black star Ruby Rose made her Arrowverse debut to a positive reaction from fans.

The script from Dries came in late 2018, and the network was rumored to be picking it up for a pilot. Nutter also helmed The CW’s other hit series, The Flash.

In the series written by Caroline Dries, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) is passionate about social justice and not afraid to speak her mind. She takes on the street of Gotham as an already out lesbian and extremely skilled street fighter. She is determined to eliminate the city’s criminals who are resurging back onto the scene. Kate does have her own demons to get past, and she’ll need to overcome them to take her place as Gotham‘s true symbol of hope.

Dries will executive produce the pilot with Berlanti Production Studios with sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns. Johns is former DC Entertainment president, and now working under his new company called Mad Ghost Productions.

You can catch Ruby Rose as batwoman again when Elseworlds re-airs on The CW beginning on Monday.
