Batgirl: We Have The Shortlist Of Who Might Be Barbara Gordon!

There’s a Batgirl film coming to HBO Max sometime in the future. We have the shortlist of who might be Barbara Gordon! A list of potential Batgirl candidates was revealed on Monday, and some of the names make a lot of sense!

So, let’s start with those names, yeah? Isabella Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight), Zoey Deutch (Zombieland: Double Tap) and Leslie Grace (In the Heights) are the three that are apparently still in the running. Haley Lu Richardson was also mentioned, but the people who revealed this think she may have already passed on the role!

All of this information comes courtesy of Deadline, they’re the ones who broke the story and it’s been circulating online ever since! There doesn’t seem to be one of those names favored over the others, so it’s anyone’s game right now!

These names aren’t the only information we got on the upcoming Batgirl film from DC Comics, heading to HBO Max!  Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are coming on board to direct the film. They’re taking over after Joss Whedon left. Makes sense they wouldn’t trust him after Justice League bombed so freaking hard.

Meanwhile, Christina Hodson is writing the script. You might be familiar with her, since she also wrote the Harley Quinn/Birds Of Prey film!

One of the main questions we have left is what universe Batgirl will be a part of. Will she be tied to Ben Affleck‘s Batman? Or will she perhaps be tied to Robert Pattinson‘s Batman? For now it’s unclear, but it would be pretty cool if they started expanding on Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe!

This is exciting news since it means the project is finally picking up steam! We’ll be keeping an eye on the news, and can’t wait to see Batgirl on HBO Max!
