‘Bates Motel’ Season Finale Preview: ‘Norman’

With Norma’s fate still uncertain, Norman and Alex will have to finally face each other. If we can gather anything from the preview, it’s that this is going to be a terribly trying time for the Bates-Romero family.
What will the fallout be for Norman’s actions? Will Alex find it in himself to give Norman a pass because of his mental state? It’ll be interesting to see how their dynamic plays out as next week’s season finale unfolds.
That said, I do think there’ll be a lot of loose ends by the end of the episode that won’t be resolved until next season (it’s just the ‘Bates’ way). In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if the show holds off on revealing Norma’s condition.
One thing that strikes me is how Norman-centric this debacle is. What he’s done has set in motion a stream of events that affects everyone in his life–from Norma and Alex to Dylan and Emma. Like Norma, Norman spoils everything he touches. Can he cope without Norma by his side?
