Unveiling the Facts: Clarifying Sexual Assault Allegations Against Nick Carter
Nick Carter, member of the iconic Backstreet Boys, has been accused of sexual assault. Allegations have resurfaced regarding an incident that reportedly occurred on a yacht in 2003, involving Nick Carter and a woman. An anonymous accuser, referred to as A.R., claimed Carter provided alcohol and took her virginity in a complaint filed Monday in Nevada.
The accuser also alleges that Carter sexually abused her on separate occasions, including an incident on his tour bus and another on a yacht. According to the lawsuit, one of these alleged assaults led to the victim contracting a sexually transmitted disease.
A spokesperson for Carter, aged 43, vehemently denied the allegations, labeling them as “false” in a statement shared with Fox News Digital. The representative highlighted that the claims had undergone a thorough police investigation in the past. The statement also mentioned a separate incident where the accuser faced the threat of criminal charges for filing a false police report. The spokesperson emphasized the reiteration of these allegations in a new legal complaint doesn’t make them any more valid.
Carter eagerly anticipates the presentation of evidence, aiming to shed light on what he refers to as “malicious schemes.”
The accuser is seeking damages exceeding $15,000 to cover “past and future medical expenses, and for past and future pain and suffering.” Furthermore, she has requested a jury trial.
The lawsuit states that the plaintiff endured severe emotional trauma and distress due to Carter’s alleged sexual battery.
In February, Carter responded with a countersuit against two accusers who surfaced with allegations from over two decades ago, claiming that they were capitalizing on the #MeToo movement. The pop star sought $2.3 million in damages.
In a recent ruling, a judge granted Carter’s counterclaim against Melissa Schuman to proceed. The victim’s legal team had argued that her allegations were protected by the First Amendment and couldn’t be deemed defamatory. However, Judge Nancy Allf found that Carter’s team had presented sufficient evidence for the case to move forward.
In a separate development, Judge Alff in March ruled that Carter could continue pursuing his counterclaim against Shannon “Shay” Ruth. Ruth accused Carter of raping her in 2001 when she was 17.
The accuser expressed the impact of the alleged incident during a press conference, stating that the past 21 years had been marked by pain, confusion, frustration, shame, and self-harm as a direct result of the alleged assault.
Subsequently, in April, Carter faced another lawsuit when Schuman filed a complaint accusing the pop star of raping her in 2003 when she was 18. Schuman and Carter initially met while working on the TV movie “The Hollow” together. She first came forward in 2017, accusing Carter of rape.
