We’re only a few more months away from the release of the third Avengers film, Infinity War, which will see our heroes throw down against Thanos in his quest to collect the Infinity Stones. It’s been long speculated that some of our favorite Avengers won’t survive the biggest on-screen Marvel battle, but now this new synopsis sadly confirms it.
“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their superhero allies must be willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.”
We might be saying goodbye to Captain America and Thor as both Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth’s Marvel contracts are now completed, but could we also be bidding adieu to Iron Man? Chris Evans’ comments about Robert Downey Jr. being “irreplaceable” as Iron Man this past weekend at ACE Comic Con in Arizona certainly make us think so.
Before Infinity War hits theaters however, we’ll be heading to Wakanda with Black Panther on February 16th, followed by Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6th. Then, in 2019, Captain Marvel makes her on-screen debut March 8th, with Avengers 4 opening in May, and the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel in July. Finally, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will hit theaters sometime in 2020, as announced by James Gunn himself.
Who do you think will die in Infinity War?
