If you’re a fan of the MCU, chances are, you’ve spent most of the day – like us – fawning over the stunning images we saw on our social media feeds. From magazine covers to inside photo shoots – some of the heroes set to be in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 looked stunning for the holiday issue of Vanity Fair.

Alongside the beautiful images, an incredible look back at 10 years of the MCU was provided as well as some quotes from Kevin Feige. The article is simply titled ‘Secrets of the Marvel Universe’ which brings us a feeling of slight irony. Seeing as the cast themselves are so terrible at keeping secrets.

Feige, however, is a man who keeps those secrets, but he did give us a hint of an idea of what’s to come. So what can we expect from Avengers 4? Well, Feige says something we’ve never seen before in a superhero film.

‘Avengers 4 will bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale.’

Many fans believe that finale will come in the form of some beloved characters leaving the MCU for good, and some of them won’t just be going off with a promise to return if they’re ever needed again. Names like Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, and Scarlett Johansson all have contracts ending with Avengers 4. So, we’re anticipating some big losses in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 and those losses are going to impact the MCU in a big way.

So yes, Avengers 4 is going to be a finale of sorts, but it’s also going to be a new beginning.

‘There will be two distinct periods. Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting.’

Not in the way’s we’re all expecting…that could lead to a very interesting future. However, instead of obsessing over the unknowns, we’re going to anticipate the future with a level head. There have to be departures, and we trust that those heroes will get the endings they truly deserve.

Even if they break our hearts.
