There’s a fracture emerging on Team Arrow this season.
What’s interesting is that the divide that will be coming won’t be one we’ve seen on the show before. With the changes and additions to Team Arrow over the last season, the fracture will see the new members of the team come up against Original Team Arrow aka OTA that will threaten the cohesion of the team as a whole.
“There are new members of Team Arrow and original members of Team Arrow…Going back to season one it was me and David. Then me, David, and Emily. And it was like that for quite a long time. It’s always been the core elements of Team Arrow,” explained Stephen Amell during a set visit interview on Tuesday.
According to a GreenArrowTV clip, David Ramsey previously teased a bit of the dynamic shift during his interview, and Stephen Amell spoke to the dynamic, and the fracture fans will be seeing presumably in the back half of the season. He explained, “[i]n an upcoming episode, we discover that there is a fracture on the inside and it threatens to split the Team Arrow down the middle between the original members and the newbies.”
Amell also discussed how Oliver has changed this season when interacting the team as there has been more of an air of collaboration with the team. Over the last few episodes, it’s been clear to see that willingness to listen to others around him as opposed to “barking” orders all of the time.
There was also some change as to the way the fallout of this impending will be handled. “I’ve been really pushing back hard against the way that we’ve handled the fallout between handling some of the slight fracture of the team. Because in my mind, myself, David, and Emily…we make a decision, but we make it together.” However, it seemed like the anger was being directed at just Oliver as opposed to the trio of decision makers. “It didn’t track with” how the story was playing out, according to Amell.
With the impending fracture within the team now revealed, the question is what causes the fracture and what will the fallout Amell teased look like now that it’s OTA versus the Newbies?
