We may still have a ways to go until Arrow makes its way back onto the small screen but new series showrunner Beth Schwartz is already providing a small hint about what to expect from the premiere episode! She recently tweeted out a photo of the 7×01 script, revealing the title to be “Inmate 4587”. The episode was written by Schwartz and Oscar Balderrama and directed by James Bamford. Check it out below!

Season 6 ended on a more ominous note with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) publicly admitting to being the Green Arrow, turning himself into the FBI, and being sent to a supermax prison surrounded by all of the criminals he helped put there – hence the title “Inmate 4587”.
One fan was quick to point out that the number 4587 is actually a Marc Guggenheim Easter Egg. It’s a callback to the 1980s television series Wiseguy and can be seen across all the Arrowverse shows. Guggenheim recently stepped down as showrunner for the series to take on an executive consultant role.

New Showrunner Beth Schwartz has been a part of the series since season 1 where she started as a writer’s assistant and over the years worked her way up to a co-executive producer for season 6.
“We are all so incredibly thrilled to announce Beth Schwartz as the new showrunner of Arrow. She has been a source of some of the show’s most exciting and memorable moments from the beginning. Beth is a true leader and a captivating storyteller, and we all can’t wait for the audience to see what she and her team dream up as they take Arrow into its next big chapter,” series co-creator Greg Berlanti said earlier this year.
While there are still a lot of unknowns for Oliver heading into the new season, things will be tense for Felicity and the team as well.
“The idea now is: If Oliver’s in prison, is he actually more protected than the team? The rest of the team is all going to be in danger as well. Where that puts Felicity and William, I mean, we can only do so much to protect them,” Emily Bett Rickards said.
Arrow returns to The CW Monday, October 15 on The Cw. Check out the official synopsis for season 7 below!
There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his Super Hero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow. Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
