‘Arrow’: Will we see a Black Siren vs White Canary Fight?
Our Laurel Lance may be gone from the Arrowverse, but Katie Cassidy herself is sticking around for the long run. After signing on as a regular for the sixth season of the hit CW series, Katie Cassidy was quite ecstatic to be diving deeper into the role of Black Siren. The Meta-Human, who first appeared to us in the second season of sister show The Flash, was one of those personnel who was trapped on Lian Yu when it detonated.
During her time at San Diego Comic-Con, Cassidy was asked by CBR about facing down her sister Sara Lance, who currently stars on Legends of Tomorrow as the White Canary.
“Absolutely. I love working with Caity Lotz! I said to Marc [Guggenheim], ‘is this possible even for Earth-2 Laurel to come face to face with [Earth-1] Laurel? What’s that like?’ That’s something really interesting and cool. I hope they do it. There’s an opportunity in the crossovers for that to happen.”
The universes will again crossover this year, so anything is possible. At the current moment, Sara is completely unaware of Black Siren, so it will definitely be a shock if and when the pair ever meet.
Cassidy also talked about Black Siren’s character development in season 6 as well, hinting that she could possibly become a hero again.
“Yes, I do think there’s a chance at redemption for her. I think there will be people who understand when she has the opportunity and once we learn what she’s gone through, why she is the way that she is. I think people will be able to relate to it, have sympathy for her. I think there’s a chance at really helping her get back to who she is at her core, and potentially not be so crazy, and have a good side to her, but I think as time goes on we’ll learn that.”
