‘Arrow’ Showrunner Says the Season 8 Premiere is a ‘Love Letter’ to the Pilot

We are exactly two months away from the Arrow Season 8 finale, and all I have been thinking about is how far along the show has come. I have been an active follower of the series since the pilot episode, and I have been reflecting on how far along some of my beloved characters have come. Most especially, Oliver Queen.

To add to that, I am not just talking about the characters – the actors themselves have been an incredible journey. Stephen Amell himself has become a heroic icon for kids of all ages to look up to, and has been an incredible role model for adults to follow in his footsteps. Seeing Stephen progress over all these years has been absolutely incredible, and he has done a phenomenal job at bringing the Green Arrow character to life. Not only that, but he kicked off the show that sparked the entire ‘Arrowverse’ of shows; bringing The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow to life.

One thing that both fans and cast members are anxiously awaiting, is the arrival of the Season 8 premiere episode. Considering the line-up they have on the ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover episode, we can certainly expect amazing things for this entire season. In a recent interview with TV Guide, Show Runner Beth Schwartz talked about the upcoming Season, and what we can expect from these final 10 episodes.

In addition to incredible guests appearances and a gigantic, surprising character death, Beth Schwartz talked about how there will be gigantic callbacks to Season One, especially in the premiere episode.

We have a lot of callbacks to Season 1 early on in, well, especially in the premiere. The premiere is very much like a love letter to the pilot, and it was so much fun to write. And the actors had a lot of fun as well. There’s going to be a lot of that through the season.”

I am a huge fan of Easter Eggs, so I’m beyond excited to see what the Showrunners and writers have in store for us this season.

Arrow’s final season premieres Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9PM/EST on The CW.
