‘Arrow’ Season 5: The Theme Will Be Legacy

Once again Oliver will be in conflict for season 5. It’s still all about his past but I still think he will still blame himself for the death of the Black Canary.

Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim had a talk with EW and told them about the theme that will be set for this season. We will still feel the aftermath of Black Canary’s death as Oliver will look back on everything they went through.

“Essentially the theme that we’re dealing with this year is legacy. The idea [is] Oliver honoring Black Canary’s legacy after Laurel’s death last year. As the season progresses, you’ll see that there are a lot of callbacks to season 1. What we’re doing is we’re dramatizing Oliver’s desire to grow, move forward, and evolve, but this concept of legacy keeps threatening to pull him back to the early days.”

But of course, with a new legacy to hold, there comes a new enemy, Prometheus. The producers of Arrow already hinted that the hate for the Green Arrow will be very personal. Which makes me think a little!

We already heard that Tommy Merlyn (portrayed by Collin Donnell) will be returning from the dead. Do we see a connection there…?

We will only know when Arrow will come back on October 5 on The CW!
