After a shocking turn of events last week, Arrow fans are rather curious to see what direction the show will be taking now that Oliver has passed on the mantle of ‘The Green Arrow’ to his best friend, John Diggle.
Diggle has suited up for Oliver in the past (Season 1) as a means to clear Oliver’s name and release him from prison. Now that Oliver is back under the microscope of both the FBI and the entire population of Star City, things are about to get extremely complicated.
Check out the preview and synopsis below:
DC CHARACTER ONYX VISITS STAR CITY — A rogue black ops team led by Onyx (guest star Chastity Dotson) breaks into Kord Industries and steals something lethal. Oliver (Stephen Amell) struggles to connect with William (guest star Jack Moore) so he reaches out to a surprising source for help.
So far we’ve got Diggle suiting up, another baddie running around the city and on top of ALL of that… an Olicity reunion? The CW released a new photo previewing this week’s episode, and it is sure to make Olicity fans giddy with glee!
One thing I am looking forward to this episode is seeing how Oliver will really step into this ‘fatherly’ role, and make good on his promise to William. In prior interviews, EP Wendy Mericle talked about how excited she was for the Arrow fandom to see Oliver balance his life not only as the Mayor/Green Arrow… but also as the Mayor/Green Arrow/Father.
“We are definitely exploring this notion of what is it like for Oliver to have a kid and be in the spotlight in the city. We are going to be using that as a platform to tell some stories, because it’s just a natural place to go. It gives us an opportunity to tell political stories from a different perspective.”
Without a doubt, there is going to be plenty of questions coming from the Star City Press on how Oliver suddenly has a child that no one knew about until now – just as it would be if this were to occur in real life.
All we’ve got to say, is that it is sure going to be an interesting week!
