Rumors have been circling the Arrowverse stating that Felicity has a new man in Arrow Season 5. Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity on the hit CW show, recently set the record straight in a cast interview with TV Line at San Diego Comic Con.
“It is a true rumor,” Rickards confirmed in the interview. “She steps on it pretty hot off the bat. You’ll meet him quite quickly.”
Season 4 ended with Felicity and Oliver (Stephen Amell) having quite the fall-out, resulting in Felicity calling off their engagement. The hearts of all ‘Olicity’ fans broke that day. I know mine certainly did.
So how does Oliver, take the news of Felicity’s new man?
“I think he’ll be fine,” Amell joked. “I think he’ll be fine. He will hug a pillow, much like I’m hugging a pillow right now, but he’ll do it in private.”
“Or the opposite of that,” Amell continued. “We meet him in episode one, he dies in act four.”
“And Felicity cries, and Oliver’s there to cover the tears,” Emily Bett Rickards added.
“’He got shot with an arrow in the head? Don’t look at me,’” Amell adds, feigning playful ignorance.
Oliver has other problems beyond his love life in Season 5. Namely, there’s a big bad that Oliver is responsible for creating, which will come as news to him.
“I mean, I feel like Oliver will react the way he always reacts,” Amell teased jokingly. “He’ll seek the advice of others, and be totally calm, and not react violently at all. Or whatever the opposite of that is.”
Arrow Season 5 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at 8PM/EST on The CW.
