‘Arrow’: Felicity Smoak – Aspiring Business Woman or Incoming Vigilante?

Last year during Arrow Season 5 we saw our favorite I.T girl peer down a very dangerous path. She found herself getting mixed in with quite a dangerous hacker group, Helix. Fans of the show, as well as her very own teammates, found themselves worrying for Felicity. She is, after all, the ‘light’ behind the team.

This begs the question – What direction will be see Felicity go in this upcoming season? Will she go down a dark path once more… or will she have a different focus?

Ever since the ‘Smoak Technologies’ appeared in Legends of Tomorrow’s first season when the team went to a future Star City, fans have been wanting to know when they might see Felicity get her own company on Arrow.

Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim told TV Line that fans should expect some developments regarding Felicity starting her own company after being fired as CEO of Palmer Technologies in season four.

“That was something we wanted to do last year, and then we got sort of seduced by the Helix storyline,” Guggenheim said. “I would say that people wanting that storyline will be happy, but for reasons that I think will be very obvious, it can’t be called Smoak Technologies.”

Now, another question raised by fans – Will Olicity occur once more?

The pair shared a kiss in the Season 5 finale, bringing back hope for fans of the pair. The kiss, in addition to Marc’s comment stating that it can’t be called Smoak Technologies, has fans spreading rumors that perhaps the pair will wed at some point this season giving it the name ‘Queen Technologies’.

Marc Guggenheim was quick to clarify that it wouldn’t be quite that simple.

“And all those clever readers who are like, ‘That’s because she’ll be changing her name to Queen,’ it’s not Queen Technologies, either.”

Arrow will return on October 12 at 9PM/EST on The CW.
