Arnold Schwarzenegger Responds to Bruce Willis’ Retirement Announcement

Published on May 28th, 2023 | Updated on May 28th, 2023 | By FanFest

Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently engaged in the promotion of his latest Netflix series, FUBAR, which debuted on the streaming platform over the weekend. During a recent conversation with CinemaBlend regarding the new show, Schwarzenegger shared his thoughts on his former co-star, Bruce Willis. Both actors had appeared together in The Expendables, a film featuring several prominent action stars. Notably, they even delivered each other’s most iconic lines in The Expendables 2. Earlier this year, Willis’ family made a public announcement revealing that the actor had received an official diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). This diagnosis followed the previous year’s news that Willis would be retiring from acting.

Schwarzenegger expressed his admiration for Willis, describing him as a tremendous and enduring star. He emphasized that Willis would always be remembered as a great actor and a kind individual. Schwarzenegger acknowledged the necessity for Willis to retire due to his health condition but also highlighted the fact that action heroes, in general, never truly retire—they merely reload.

Bruce Willis’ Family Statement:

Willis’ family, comprising his wife Emma, ex-wife Demi Moore, and daughters Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn, released a joint statement earlier this year. In their statement, they extended their gratitude to everyone for the overwhelming love and compassion shown towards Bruce over the past ten months. They acknowledged the generosity of spirit from the community and provided an update on Bruce’s condition. They mentioned that since announcing his diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, his condition has progressed, resulting in a more specific diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The family expressed their relief at having a clear diagnosis, even though the challenges with communication are one of the symptoms Bruce faces.
