Anthony Daniels Wraps ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’

Anthony Daniels, who has portrayed the lovable C-3PO in all 9 of the main Star Wars titles, as well as Lego games, short films, and most recently in Wreck it Ralph 2, has shared that he has finished filming for Episode IX.

Anthony shared the news on Twitter:

From this, it is unclear whether this will be the last time Star Wars fans will see Daniels portray C-3PO. If it is, then it is an incredibly sad day for Star Wars fans since he has embodied the clumsy character since 1977.

The Last Jedi saw the dynamic duo, 3PO and R2, separated. C-3PO stayed with Poe and Leia, while R2 went to Luke’s island on Ahch-To with Rey and Chewie. Hopefully we can see the iconic duo together again in what could be their last appearance depending on where the franchise goes after Episode IX.

J.J Abrams, who also directed The Force Awakens, is at the helm of Episode IX.

Mark Hamill has already confirmed his involvement in the last chapter of the Skywalker story. Joining him will of course be Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Domhnall Gleeson, and Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd. Set to appear with them are new stars, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell and Matt Smith whose roles are currently unknown.

The final Episode in the saga is set to open in cinemas on December 20th 2019. What is your favourite C-3PO moment in Star Wars. Let us know in the comments below.

My favourite 3PO moment is from A New Hope:

“No, I don’t think he likes you at all

No, I don’t like you either”

Brilliant.
