If the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s impressive Emmy streak wasn’t enough of a clue, the cast for Amazon’s upcoming anthology series Modern Love is further proof that the streaming giant is earning a huge reputable footprint in original programming.
According to TVLine, Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables) and Emmy Award winner Tina Fey (SNL, 30 Rock) have both signed on to join the anthology series based on the popular NY Times column and podcast of the same name. The series will feature eight half-hour stand-alone episodes that explore “love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms.”
While their character details have not been released yet, they join a huge cast including John Slattery, Dev Patel, Catherine Keener, Andy Garcia, Cristin Milioti, Brandon Victor Dixon, Olivia Cooke, Andrew Scott, Julia Garner, She Wingham, Gary Carr, John Gallagher Jr., and Sofia Boutella. It will be written, directed and produced by Once and Begin Again helmer John Carney.

Shameless star Emmy Rossum and Catastrophe’s Sharon Horgan have been tapped to direct episodes as well.

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
