Andrew Lincoln Says Season 8 of ‘The Walking Dead’ “Brings the Mojo Back”

We are just hours away from the season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead and it is sort of hard to think about anything else. Unlike last year, when we knew we’d be watching the episode with a box of tissues and likely needing days to recover, we’re looking forward to the season opener this time around.

Yes, that whole ‘all-out war’ thing is looming and the cast and crew have said, many times, that we should expect big deaths, but we’re still very excited. With the series picking up right where it left off in the seventh season premiere, and also celebrating the 100th episode milestone, it’s going to be an unforgettable episode. Not that there’s a lot with The Walking Dead that you could forget.

We’re also very excited about the fact that some key players have said this season is going to bring the cast back to a place we haven’t seen them in for a while. After season 7, we all need the positivity.

Most recently, Andrew Lincoln spoke about season 8 and what it’s going to bring

When you start getting the swagger and the mojo back — because you bring that energy into the scenes, and also I get to play with some good buddies that I haven’t got to mess around with — that’s great. It’s kick-ass, man. This is a fun season.

Honestly, we couldn’t ask for anything more. Knowing that they’re back to having an incredible time both on and off set together is going to bring that sense of family back to the series for all of us. We can’t wait to see the groups unite to take on Negan and the Saviors.

We’re also really curious as to what the future holds for some characters that we saw go through huge transitions last season. We’ll see the pieces starting to fall together on October 22nd when the 100th episode premieres on AMC.
