Chad Michael Murray likely entered into your life through Freaky Friday, A Cinderella Story or One Tree Hill, which means he entered into your life as a totally swoon-worthy heartthrob. He had the blonde hair light eyes thing going for him, that ‘makes you weak at the knees’ smile, and he was incredibly charming.
The truth is, the things we loved about Chad when he first entered the scene are only better now, and he’s added onto his filmography with some incredible roles. He’s also worked with some extremely talented people who, alongside his dedicated fan base, all took a moment today to celebrate Chad’s birthday.
We wanted to join the party, too, so we looked at some of our favorite One Tree Hill moments and in doing so realized that OTH will forever have some of the most incredible quotes in the series of television – even if some were borrowed. Some of our favorites were spoken by Chad, as Lucas Scott, and we put them together in honor of his special day.
‘Our biggest regrets are not for the things we did – but, for the things we didn’t do. Things we didn’t say that could’ve saved someone that we care about. Especially when we can see the dark storm that’s headed their way.‘
‘It was a comet. The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning. And when it went away, he waited his entire life for it to come back to him. It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning.’
‘You can find the good in anybody if you just give them a chance, benefit of the doubt. Sometimes people disappoint you, sometimes they surprise you, but you never really get to know them until you listen for what’s in their heart.’
‘Your art matters, it’s what got me here.‘
‘Peyton! It’s you. When all my dreams come true, the one I want next to me. It’s you. It’s you Peyton.‘
‘Do you ever wonder if we make the moments in our lives or if the moments in our lives make us?‘
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to binge watch One Tree Hill for the..well…9th time and use Chad’s birthday as an excuse to do so.
Happy Birthday Chad, thanks for bringing us Lucas Scott.
‘…but I knew him’
