Amy Poehler to Direct and Star in Netflix’s ‘Wine Country’

Netflix has had a lot of winners in their catalog over the years. From Stranger Things to Mudbound, Orange is the New Black and Jessica Jones, the streaming giant has always given us what we need. Now, they’re upping the ante even more by giving us the winning combination of Amy Poehler and wine. Again, that’s a movie starring Amy Poehler about wine.
Poehler will be making her feature film directorial debut with Netflix’s Wine Country, which she will also star in and produce. Wine Country is just as simple as it sounds, following “a group of friends on a trip to Napa Valley for a weekend getaway.” However, Poehler isn’t going alone. She’s bringing along SNL alums Rachel Dratch, Paula Pell, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, and Tina Fey, so this movie is going to be comedically epic and definitely far from simple. SNL’s Emily Spivey will also be starring and helped pen the script alongside Poehler. Check out the official Netflix announcement below!
