Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones Reunite for New Fox Animated Comedy ‘Duncanville’

Leslie Knope and Ann Perkins are back! No, we, unfortunately, aren’t talking about a Parks and Recreation revival but Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones are teaming back up for a new animated comedy on Fox called Duncanville! Fox gave Duncanville’s first season a 13-episode order, which is set to premiere some time in the 2019-20 season.

According to VarietyDuncanville will follow a “spectacularly average 15-year-old boy and his family and friends.” Poehler will be voicing both the character of Duncan (amazing) and his mom Annie, who is “high strung and constantly trying to prevent her son from ruining his life.” Jones will be on the supporting voice cast in addition to Wiz Khalifa. Joining Poehler on the creative team are Mike and Julie Scully of The Simpsons.

[row]“Duncanville is one of the freshest animated concepts we’ve seen, and has an insane pedigree of comedic talent across the board. We’ve enjoyed a long, incredible run with Mike and Julie, and everything Amy does is pure genius. Having the voice talents of Rashida and Wiz join her makes this show the complete package. I can’t wait to have them all together when we add Duncanville to our growing animated slate,” Fox executive Michael Thorn said in a statement. [/row]

Poehler and Jones are just two more comedic powerhouses joining Fox’s upcoming animated catalog. Earlier this year Fox green lit, Bless the Harts, a new animated series featuring the voices of Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph. The series is set to follow “a group of Southerners who are always broke as a joke, and struggling for the American dream of status and wealth. What they don’t realize is that they’re already rich, in friends, family and laughter.”
