Well, American Horror Story has redeemed itself in my eyes. I wasn’t too keen on the last episode, but this episode was a helluva ride and I enjoyed every second of it. There was mystery, intrigue, sex, blood, death—you know, all those things that make American Horror Story the show we all know and love.
So, here’s what you need to know from Chapter 7:
Agnes is a key player in this episode and we really get to see just how far gone she is. First off, she kills Sidney and his film crew in cold blood. It’s an act she takes great pleasure in, but later comes to regret.
Later in the episode, she also goes after Shelby with a butcher’s knife and actually strikes her. Shelby is saved by the grace of…Dominic who swoops in and beats the living daylights out of Agnes.
Unfortunately (for us viewers), Agnes meets her end at the hands of the real Butcher who shows up with her Forest Cult to lay claim on the house yet again.
Audrey, Lee, and Monet
With Shelby seriously injured, Audrey, Lee, and Monet escape from the house in search of help. They start by looking for Sidney’s trailer which they find ransacked and bloodied. And next to it, they find the bodies of Sidney and his crew.
When the Forest Cult starts closing in on them, they make a run for it only to be led to Rory’s final resting place. Sadly, they can’t linger there too long as the Polks start tailing them as well.
In the second half of the episode, all three are taken hostage by the Polks who really are just as sick and twisted as the reenactment made them out to be. They torture Lee by seasoning and cooking her flesh which they later feed to Audrey and Monet.
Shelby, Matt, and Dominic
Shelby and Matt are still at odds at the start of the episode and that situation becomes even more uncomfortable when Dominic starts moving in on Shelby.
At one point, Dominic tells the confessional camera that he’s only there to stir up trouble. And, in fact, Sidney has wired him with a body cam to capture all the action.
Later, after Shelby is injured by Agnes and Dominic comes to the rescue, Matt steps in to help care for Shelby as the rest of the group ventures out to find help. In the middle of the night, Matt is awoken by a force greater than himself and he’s called to the basement to meet Scathach, the witch he’s so intrigued by. Dominic follows him, sees him having sex with her, and wakes Shelby.
When Shelby walks in on the situation, Matt—who is still in a daze—tells her that he’s only back at Roanoke for Scathach. He claims to be in love with her. At this, Shelby flies off the handle and kills Matt, leaving Dominic to clean up the mess.
So, to tally it all up:
Rory is dead.
Sidney and crew are dead.
Matt is dead.
Agnes is dead.
Lee’s fate is still unknown. And that leaves us with Monet, Shelby, Dominic, and Audrey. Who do you think will make it to the end?
