If you’re a loyal AHS viewer, you should know by now that Ryan Murphy doesn’t pussyfoot around. He cuts to the chase right away and next week’s episode of My Roanoke Nightmare is going to be doing just that.
From the looks of the preview, we’ll be getting to know Kathy Bates’ ghostly character rather quickly and what role she plays in the ‘Forest Cult’ that’s entrapped Shelby. Apparently she’s there to claim what’s hers: Shelby’s and Matt’s home. And she’ll stop at nothing until she achieves her goal.
Denis O’Hare will also be showing up next week to guide Shelby, Matt, and Lee through this ordeal.
At one point, we hear Shelby mention human sacrifice and devil worship. I wonder if those will be running themes throughout the season.
It also looks as though Lee will be bringing her daughter into the mix which is probably a terrible idea. I get the feeling that the child will be in grave danger over the coming episodes. Let’s not forget that Shelby loses a baby in the first episode–it’s what brings them east in the first place. Could the potential loss of innocent life tie into a greater theme of human sacrifice?
