Fresh off the heels of Lady Gaga’s Golden Globes win, AHS is ready to pack its final punch. Even though we’ve been put through the emotional ringer this season, it doesn’t look like much is going to change at our favorite hotel. Although, it does look like there’s a need for fewer killings within the hotel walls.
Iris is perplexed by the idea that the ghosts of the Hotel Cortez are still killing guests for their own pleasure. “The spirits keep killing the guests? We’re gonna end up with zero stars,” she quips. And from this we get a hint of what might be the trouble: how can the hotel thrive if every guest that steps into it ends up dead?
Strangely enough, we also hear James March himself call for an end to the killing. It’s strange because he’s the one who started all this mess in the first place. Has he turned a new leaf? I’m interested to see his motive for this call to action (or inaction).
If my intuition is correct, I think the final episode of the season will open up new doors rather than tie up all the season’s loose ends. It’s what happens every season on American Horror Story. Rather than leaving us with a neatly packaged ending, Ryan Murphy always gives us the gift of new possibility to let our minds wander far beyond what we see on screen. Hope you’re looking forward to it as much as I am!
